ArcheAge CBT4 extended two weeks.

In a news post on ArcheAge.com’s Korean forums, Jake Song and XLGAMES announced that they would be extending the current closed beta. Two more weeks have been added to the clock because the ArcheAge team believes the recent addition of siege warfare needs more polish.

The beta will continue on until at least March 11th, if not later.

If you can read Hangul, here’s the original announcement.

ArcheAge.com English section gets an update. Check it out!

Quick, hop over to ArcheAge.com/en website and take a look at the new pages that were just added.

Keep in mind that ArcheAge.com/en is mostly a website meant to get players and companies excited about ArcheAge, not to support the foreign ArcheAge community. You won’t find a beta signup page there.

For community, there’s plenty of fansites that have you covered. ;)

ArcheAge.com redesigned (again)!

Redesigned ArcheAge.com

With Spring comes a new ArcheAge.com website design! It thematically matches the redesigned logo (brand identity) and brings us one step closer to seeing ArcheAge in action.

Additionally, a small contest has been set up by XLGames to commemorate ArcheAge.com’s redesign. The rules are pretty simple: get your friends to register accounts and put your username in the “Referred By” field. (Contest only open to South Korean citizens.)

Finally, CBT3 random daily recruitment is still ongoing. Be excited!

A few ArcheAge questions answered (and translated).

A question and answer article popped up on ArcheAge.com recently and was immediately noticed by members of ArcheAgeSource.com. One of the members, Eligor, took it upon himself to translate the content to English for all of us to read. Thanks!

Q. What is this Monorail we’ve heard about?
A. The monorail is a type of transport used to move around the city. During Closed Beta Testing we introduced it in Mariano city, but will be in every city ingame. (There are also other means of transport, which you can see here: http://www.archeage.com/contents/gameIntros/2)

Q. Will monsters be able to raid cities or castles?
A. Archeage offers various quests that can be done with other players in the same region, this is called “Common Quests”. In the event of a monster invasion, repelling them will be a common quest.

Q. How will Archeage work with instanced maps, will it feel like a single player game?
A. Moving between maps in Archeage is seamless. (Editor’s note: ArcheAge isn’t an instanced MMO like GuildWars.)

Q. How does the game work since there isn’t a class system?
A. In Archeage, when creating a character, rather than picking a class you select three of the ten skill trees available. Depending on the combination you selected, your gameplay with differ. There are 120 possible combinations!

Q. Is Archeage an easy game?
A. Firstly, I would like to say that yes, it is an easy game. For example, the labour system if you want to build a house, it works a lot like real life. It is important to balance the way you play.

Q. What happened to the implementation of production jobs?
A. In Archeage there are no crafting professions, it’s all unified.
