MMORPG.com allots subforum for ArchAge!
Not long after ArcheAgeSource.com reached 1000+ members (making it truly the largest AA fansite available), MMORPG.com decided ArcheAge was a popular enough game to warrant its own subforum on their popular news portal!
Here’s the link to the game’s listing on MMORPG.com: http://www.mpog.com/gamelist.cfm/game/572/ArcheAge.html
And here’s another link directly to the game’s list of forums: http://www.mpog.com/gamelist.cfm/game/572/view/forums
It’s time for the ArcheAge community to expand some more! Please be friendly and courteous to the inevitable wave of new fans that this development will generate.
A few ArcheAge questions answered (and translated).
A question and answer article popped up on ArcheAge.com recently and was immediately noticed by members of ArcheAgeSource.com. One of the members, Eligor, took it upon himself to translate the content to English for all of us to read. Thanks!

Q. What is this Monorail we’ve heard about?
A. The monorail is a type of transport used to move around the city. During Closed Beta Testing we introduced it in Mariano city, but will be in every city ingame. (There are also other means of transport, which you can see here: http://www.archeage.com/contents/gameIntros/2)Q. Will monsters be able to raid cities or castles?
A. Archeage offers various quests that can be done with other players in the same region, this is called “Common Quests”. In the event of a monster invasion, repelling them will be a common quest.Q. How will Archeage work with instanced maps, will it feel like a single player game?
A. Moving between maps in Archeage is seamless. (Editor’s note: ArcheAge isn’t an instanced MMO like GuildWars.)Q. How does the game work since there isn’t a class system?
A. In Archeage, when creating a character, rather than picking a class you select three of the ten skill trees available. Depending on the combination you selected, your gameplay with differ. There are 120 possible combinations!Q. Is Archeage an easy game?
A. Firstly, I would like to say that yes, it is an easy game. For example, the labour system if you want to build a house, it works a lot like real life. It is important to balance the way you play.Q. What happened to the implementation of production jobs?
A. In Archeage there are no crafting professions, it’s all unified.
CryENGINE 3 Showcase Video Includes ArcheAge
We’re not exactly sure why ArcheAge is in the following CryENGINE 3 showcase video. Our favorite MMO was definitely built using CryENGINE 2, but perhaps the two engines were similar enough that XLGames switched over? If that hypothesis is correct, it can only mean good things.
The ArcheAge footage starts around 2:00, but the entire video is actually pretty interesting to watch.
More Concept Art: The Cradle of Life
XLGames is still focused on getting ArcheAge ready for its next closed beta test (which will supposedly happen either this month or next), so hard news has remained scarce for the past few months.
To keep things fresh, we’ve been sharing amazing ArcheAge concept art with the world. Here’s the newest bit of art to grace our servers, a verdant and dramatic canyon landscape!

February’s Article of the Month from AAS
A little over a week ago, ArcheAge-Online.com and ArcheAgeSource.com announced a very slick cross-promotion. What both sites want is interesting, original content and articles written by enthusiastic ArcheAge fans. In order to encourage hesitant writers, ArcheAgeSource.com’s administrator has decided to reward one article writer per month with ArcheAge-themed swag, while we here at ArcheAge-Online.com have offered to “feature” the article on our front page.
The following example is the first such article to be featured. It was written, edited, and updated by one AAS member: XtraMagic. Follow the “continue reading” link to see it!
